I was seven when the world opened up. My family moved to Africa, and for three years, I lived in the heartbeat of a land that changed me. I learned early that nature doesn't just exist; it speaks. It roared, it whispered, and for the young girl who felt the world too deeply, it welcomed me.
Perhaps you know that feeling of being a stranger in the 'clumsy world', only to find your truest self in the wild or the pages of a story.
I grew up in the space between the real and the magical. I don’t paint fantasy and I don’t paint realism. I paint the deeper truth underneath both—a realm where love softens the edges of instinct.
To capture this, I utilize Traditional Flemish Glazing, a patient process of building the image through dozens of transparent veils of oil. This Luminous Layering allows light to travel through the paint and reflect back to the viewer, creating an 'inner glow' that makes these beings feel like a living, breathing presence.
When I saw Edward Hicks’ The Peaceable Kingdom, I realized my vocation. I don't paint fantasy and I don't paint realism. I paint the deeper truth underneath both - a realm where love softens the edges of instinct and tenderness is the greatest power we possess.
My paintings are not just decor for your walls; they are Invitations. I channel tigers that look at you like old friends and spirit cats that guard what you hold sacred.

The Guardians? They are you too. Fierce and tender, still and powerful. They are the part of you that stands vigil over what matters most. I render them using Chiaroscuro—the intentional interplay of deep shadow and emergent light—to emphasize their protective presence.
By building these forms through patient layering and archival oil glazes, I ensure each Guardian has a physical depth that feels as though they are stepping out of the silence to meet you.
And the water that winds through these pieces? That is your intuition, your wordless knowing, finding its way back to the surface.
I've been told my paintings feel like home but they speak what words cannot. That someone walked past a piece and simply couldn't walk away. That is the moment I live for. That is when I know the Guardian has found its companion.

A Lifelong Conversation with the Wild
My bond with the animal kingdom isn't just an interest -it is the constant thread of my life. From the vastness of the Serengeti to the quiet breath of a cat curled in my lap, I have always looked for the soul behind the eyes.
I don't just paint animals. I paint the Interspecies Heart.
Looking ahead I'm moving deeper into the "Worlds Between" - creating new series that explore the ancient wordless friendships that exist between predator, prey, and protector. I am searching for the places where love transcends form and where we finally remember that we are all part of the same sacred story.
This unfolding journey recently led to a featured exhibition at the Milan Art Gallery in Sarasota. There, I shared my focus on Classical Oil Techniques applied to contemporary spirits—proving that the 'old world' mastery of the Flemish painters still has a vital place in the hearts of modern collectors.
